GEO VPL Finance Limited was established in 1994 by Mr. K. G. Lawrence, Chairman of the Geo Group, with a vision to deliver reliable financial services to individuals and local communities. The company began its journey as V/P/L Financial Services Private Limited in Thoppumpady, Kochi, incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956.
The company is backed by the Geo Group, which boasts a business legacy of over 55 years with diverse ventures, including Geo Seafoods and Geo VPL India Nidhi Ltd., establishing a strong presence throughout Kerala.
In 2000, GEO VPL Finance Limited received its Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) registration from the Reserve Bank of India. The company was initially specialized in short-term financial assistance against eligible gold jewellery to help customers meet their personal and financial goals. Following its steady growth in Kochi, GEO VPL Finance began expanding its branch network in 2001.
In April 2025, the company was converted into a Public Limited Company and was formally renamed as GEO VPL Finance Limited.
